Inveraray Forest Circular Walk

6.2 miles (10 km)

This circular walk explores the forested area to to the north and west of Inveraray.
On the way you will pass the historic Inveraray Castle and enjoy some fine views over Loch Fyne. There's also peaceful woodland trails, streams, ponds and waterfalls to see....
The route starts from the car park in the town where you can enjoy views of the loch and the striking Inveraray Bridge before heading north along the River Aray and then west into the woodland. The trails climb gently through the trees, passing a series of small burns and waterfalls. As you continue west, there are several fine vantage points offering elevated views over Loch Fyne, the castle grounds, and the surrounding Argyll hills. Wildlife in the area may include red squirrels, deer, and a variety of woodland birds. The paths are generally well maintained and provide a quiet, scenic circuit through one of the most attractive parts of the region.
You can continue your walking on the Inveraray Watchtower Walk which takes you up to a wonderful viewpoint near the castle.
