Skegness Beach Lagoon Walk
1.1 miles (1.8 km)This walk takes you around the pretty Boating Lake next to the beach in Skegness.
The route is roughly a mile long and follows a flat, tarmac path that fully encircles the water, making it fully accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs, and those with limited mobility. Located on Tower Esplanade, the boating lake is a classic feature of the Skegness seafront and sits directly adjacent to the main award-winning beach.... It provides an easy, level stroll that connects the bustling town centre attractions with the quieter areas of the central beach development.
Despite its urban, seaside location, the freshwater lagoon attracts a variety of local wildfowl and coastal birds. Walkers can regularly see resident populations of mallards, mute swans, and Canada geese, alongside various species of gulls that travel inland from the adjacent shoreline. The small islands within the lake serve as safe nesting and resting sites for these birds throughout the year. The park area is also lined with mature trees and formal flowerbeds that support local insect life and songbirds during the summer months.
You can continue your walking in the town on the Skegness to Gibraltar Point Walk.
