Whipsnade Heath and Kensworth Quarry Walk

5.3 miles (8.6 km)

This circular walk explores Whipsnade Heath and Kensworth in the Chilterns.
The area is located just south of the Bedfordshire town Dunstable, next to the popular Dunstable Downs Country Park. You can start this walk from the visitor centre and car park at the park.... From here you head east to visit the Kensworth Quarry where there is a footpath heading along the northern edge of the old chalk quarry.
The route then loops across the Downs, before coming to Whipsnade Heath where there's some pleasant woodland and heathland trails. Look out for the pretty bluebells here in the spring months. In this area you pass close to the Whipsnade Tree Cathedral which is well worth a visit if you have time.
