Green Castle Woods Walk

This circular walk explores Green Castle Woods near Carmarthen.
The ancient woods are located a few miles south of the town, next to the River Towy. There's miles of peaceful trails, a photogenic waterfall and pretty bluebells in the spring months.... Also of interest is Castell Moel (also known as Green Castle), the remains of a 16th-century fortified manor house. You can enjoy some fine river views on the eastern side of the woods near the ancient ruins.
There's lots of wildlife to see with various woodland birds and butterflies fluttering around the widlflowers during the summer.
Head south and you could pick up the Llansteffan Castle Walk and the Llansteffan St Anthony's Well Walk for some more interesting local history.
