Grosmont to Beck Hole Circular Walk

This circular walk visits the hamlet of Beck Hole from Grosmont. The 4.3 mile route follows the Grosmont to Goathland Rail Trail to Beck Hole before returning via Green End and Crag Cliff Wood.
This attractive walk explores a beautiful corner of the North York Moors National Park, combining the wooded Esk Valley with one of the region's most popular former railway trails.... The route passes through peaceful woodland, alongside tumbling streams and across open countryside, with lovely views over the surrounding moorland and valleys.
The former railway line provides an easy, gently graded route to Beck Hole, a picturesque hamlet nestled in the narrow valley of Murk Esk. Once an important stopping point on the railway between Whitby and Pickering, the hamlet is now known for its peaceful setting, historic stone cottages and the attractive stream that flows through the village. The return route through Green End and Crag Cliff Wood offers a contrasting landscape of ancient woodland, with bluebells in spring and colourful woodland foliage during autumn.
The walk begins and ends in Grosmont, a charming village on the heritage North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Steam trains regularly pass through the station, while the village also has traditional pubs, cafés and easy access to further walks through the Esk Valley and surrounding moorland.
