Moel Y Gaer Walk

This walk climbs to the Moel Y Gaer Hillfort in the Clwydian Range near Rhosesmor, Flintshire.
You can start the walk in Rhosesmor where there is some parking available at the village hall. From here it is a short walk north west to reach the hillfort which lies at the southern end of Halkyn Mountain.... From the summit there are some fabulous views over the Clwydian mountains and the River Dee Estuary. Blackpool tower and the Penines of England are also visible on a clear day.
Most of the Iron Age fort's earthworks are still very clear on the side of the hill with a clearly visible rampart you can walk the whole way around at the top.
