Irchester Country Park
Enjoy numerous walking and cycling trails in this splendid country park in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The park has peaceuful woodland paths, open meadows and the interesting Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway Museum. There is also plenty of wildlife with Muntjac Deer, hedgehogs, stoats and squirrels.
The Nene Way walking trail also runs through the park so you can continue your walk to the River Nene if you have time. Follow it east and you can visit the lovely Rushden Lakes and Stanwick Lakes where there's huge variety of wildlife to look out for on the water.
Following the trail west will take you towards Sywell Country Park where there's a nice lakeside trail.

Pubs/Cafes
In the middle of the park you'll find the Quarrymen's Rest cafe where you can enjoy a good range of refreshments after your exercise. There's a TV set up with live nature feeds here as well.
Dog Walking
The woods and parkland are great for dog walking so you'll probably see other owners on your visit. There are bins dotted around the site.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
Just a couple of miles to the south you can visit the lovely Summer Leys Nature Reserve and the village of Great Doddington. There's some pretty lakes and lots of birds to see in this wildlife rich reserve.
Northampton is just to the west where you can try the Northampton Canal Walk along the Grand Union Canal.
