Willen Lake
Willen Lake is Milton Keynes most popular park with a super waterside cycling and walking path to enjoy. The easy circular trail runs for a distance of about 2.6 miles around the perimeter of the lake. There's also pedalos, mini-golf and a cafe at the site.
If you would like to continue your outing you could pick up the nearby Grand Union Canal Walk or the Hanslope Circular Ride. Just to the north west you will find Linford Lakes-a lovely nature reserve in Milton Keynes with a number of pretty lakes and ponds.
If you head a couple of miles south along the Grand Union Canal you'll some come to Caldecotte Lake where you can enjoy more waterside walking and cycling.

Pubs/Cafes
The Lakeside pub is located on the south western side of the lake. They serve a good range of meals which you can enjoy in the outdoor seating area if the weather is good.
Dog Walking
The lakeside trail makes for a pleasant walk with your dog. You'll likely see other owners on a fine day. The on site pub mentioned above is also dog friendly.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
Pick up the Grand Union Canal and you could visit the canalside village of Cosgrove to the north west. There's a fine 17th century pub and a significant aqueduct to see here.
Just to the north there's Newport Pagnell to explore. There's some lovely riverside trails, a fine local park and several historic buildings to see in this nearby town. The town is well known for being the original home of the exclusive sports car manufacturer Aston Martin. There's also a Grade I listed iron bridge dating from the early 19th century to see here.
