Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap A popular cycle ride from Malton to Pickering in North Yorkshire. The route runs for just under 12 miles, following quiet country lanes and some off road trails between the two settlements.
Along the way there are lovely views of the countryside and hills of the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills AONB. The ride is not too strenuous, taking place on reasonably flat lanes with some small hill climbs along the way.
Start the ride from Malton train station and then head north to Kirby Misperton where you will cross the Costa Beck. You continue past Barker Stakes before finishing in Pickering.
In the Malton area you can continue your cycling along the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route. At the other end in Pickering there's some nice off road mountain bike trails in the nearby Cropton Forest.
