Weald Country Park
Enjoy lakes, tree-lined avenues, parkland and woodland in this 500 acre country park in Brentwood, Essex.
The park is excellent for cyclists and walkers with a large number of tracks and footpaths to enjoy. An expansive area of the park is sectioned of for the large collection of deer. They are very friendly and will come over to eat out of your hands. The park also has a large lake with a variety of winged visitors and a bird hide.
There are also very good facilities with a visitor centre and cafe. Weald Country Park is located in Brentwood and is an ideal countryside escape from London. You can find the visitor centre and car park at postcode CM14 5QS for your sat navs. It's located about a mile or so north west of Brentwood town centre which also has a train station if you would like to come by public transport.

The park is an excellent place to walk your dog so you'll probably see plenty of other owners on your visit.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
Brentwood is home to another fine country park where you can stretch your legs further. Head south east of the town centre and you will soon come to Thorndon Country Park where there are miles of good cycling and walking trails to try.
The Brentwood Walk explores St Faith's Country Park on the western side of the town. The area is a nice place for a stroll in the town with 16 hectares of attractive open grassland fields bounded by mature hedgerows. You could visit the park from the town by passing through St Faith's on the way.
