West Lomond Cycle Path
This splendid cycle route takes you along the western side of Loch Lomond from Balloch to Tarbet via Luss.
The waterside trail runs for about 17 miles along a fairly flat path. Along the way there are some wonderful views across the lake to the surrounding hills and mountains.
You start of at the southern end of the loch at the VisitScotland Visitor Centre in Balloch village. The route then heads north towards Lomond Castle and Arden.
You continue north to the delightful Luss Village with its pretty sandstone and slate cottages. You could stop here for refreshments at The Village Rest where they have an excellent range of dishes to choose from.
The final section runs from Luss to Tarbet, passing the scenic Firkin Point on the way.
To continue your exercise in the area visit Balloch Castle Country Park where you'll find 200 acres of lovely parkland and gardens. The Three Lochs Way can also be picked up here.
