Ardsley Reservoir
This circular walk takes you around Ardsley Reservoir in East Ardsley, near Tingley in Leeds. It's a nice easy stroll with the path running for just over a mile on a nice flat footpath. There's good views of Emley Moor and Haigh Moor in what is a very peaceful and picturesque spot. You can start the walk from the small car park, located on the eastern side of the water. The Leeds Country Way passes just to the west of the reservoir. This waymarked long distance path is a great way of exploring the surrounding area on foot. You can pick it up in West Ardsley near the Hey Beck. It will take you towards Batley in one direction or Wakefield in the other.

Head a short distance west of the reservoir and you can visit the Hare and Hounds in Tingley. There's a lovely large beer garden here which is the perfect spot for relaxing on a summer afternoon. You can find the pub in West Ardsley at 7 Batley Road with a postcode of WF2 0AA for your sat navs.
Dog Walking
The reservoir is a popular place for dog walkers and you will probably see plenty of other owners on your outing. The Hare and Hounds pub mentioned above is also very dog friendly.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
The Ossett Walk visits the reservoir from the nearby town which is located just to the south. It follows the Leeds Country Way for a distance of about 3.5 miles.
The Morley Walk starts from the market town to the north and also follows the country way path to the site.
