Bigod Way - Bungay, Ditchingham, Earsham and Outney Common Circular Walk
Explore the countryside around Bungay, in Suffolk, on this 10 mile circular walk in the Waveney Valley. The route offers a variety of wildlife, rare plants, and many sites of historical interest surrounding the town. It also visits Outney Common and includes fine views of the River Waveney.
To continue your walking in the Bungay area you can try the Bungay Riverside Walk which will take you around the riverside paths on Outney Common. Just the east of the trail you coudl take a detour and visit Broome Heath where there's a nice nature reserve with a number of pretty lakes.
The route is coincident with the Angles Way which offers a fine way of exploring the river valleys and broads of Suffolk and Norfolk.

Bungay, Bigod's Castle. To the west of the main town, this castle was built in 1394 by Roger Bigod. It was the second castle to occupy the site, the previous one having been built by Hugh Bigod, 220 years earlier.
