Enjoy woodland, meadows, ponds and a community orchard in this 67 acre country park in Leicester. There are a number of well laid out footpaths to follow and a visitor centre with a cafe. The park is located between Oadby and Wigston.
On the site there's some interesting sculptures and handy information boards which tell you all about the flora and fauna you can see here. Look out for a variety of butterflies around the meadows and several species of woodland bird.

Dog Walking

The park is a popular place for dog walkers so you'll probably see other owners on your visit. There's waterbowls and waste bags available at the Country Park Centre. Please keep them under close control as you make your way around the site.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

If you head to the western side of the city you can visit Leicester's largest local nature reserve at Aylestone Meadows. Near here you could also pick up the River Soar Walk and visit the lovely Watermead Country Park where there are a series of lakes to explore.
Just to the south there's Everards Meadows where there's a popular cycle route and more nice walking trails. The site also includes a cafe and cycle hire centre.
