Open Streetmap The Caherdaniel to Castlecove section of the Kerry Way is a scenic segment that offers walkers a blend of coastal and inland landscapes. This portion of the trail is approximately 6 kilometers in length and is generally considered moderately challenging.
Starting in Caherdaniel, the path leads eastward through grassy trails, gravel paths, and pleasant country lanes, providing walkers with views of Derrynane Harbour and Kenmare Bay.
Upon reaching Castlecove, walkers can explore local attractions such as Staigue Fort, an ancient stone fort located a few kilometers from the village.
You can continue your walking in the area by heading to the lovely Derrynane Beach and picking up the Derrynane Loop Walk. There's also the Sneem River Walk in the nearby village of Sneem.
