Capard Glenbarrow Ecoloop
This circular loop walk takes you along the waymarked Capard Glenbarrow Ecoloop near Rosenallis in the Slieve Bloom Mountains.
Along the way, you will encounter the beautiful Glenbarrow waterfall, which is a highlight of the route, especially after periods of rainfall when the falls are at their most dramatic. The trail also offers panoramic views across the surrounding mountains and valleys, with several viewpoints along the way to stop and take in the scenery. The paths are a mix of boardwalks, gravel, and natural terrain, ensuring the area is preserved while allowing easy navigation.

The flora of the Capard Glenbarrow Ecoloop is characteristic of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, with heather and gorse covering the uplands, creating a striking landscape in late summer when the flowers bloom in vibrant purple and yellow hues. Wooded sections of the trail feature a mix of birch, oak, and Scots pine, providing shelter for various ferns and mosses. In the wetter areas, you might spot sphagnum moss and other bog-loving plants, such as cotton grass.
