Culzean Castle Country Park
This 18th century castle sits on a dramatic clifftop on the Ayrshire coast. It is surrounded by extensive grounds containing lush woodland, landscaped gardens and rugged coastline with numerous well maintained walking paths to follow.
The Ayrshire Coastal Path passes the site so there is scope for continuing your walk. Follow the waymarked path north and you will soon come to the lovely Culzean Bay. Further on is Dunure, Bracken Bay and the Heads of Ayr. In Ayr itself you can pick up the River Ayr Walk which follows the whole length of the River Ayr from the coast to the source at Glenbuck Loch.
Heading south will take you to the pretty Swan Pond and Maidenhead Bay.

Dog Walking
The country park is great for dog walking so you'll probably see other owners on your visit. However, dogs are not allowed in the castle, retail or catering outlets or playpark and must be on a lead in the Walled Garden.

The Swan Pond, Culzean Castle. This beautiful pond makes up a part of Culzean Castle Country Park which was the first in Scotland opened in 1969. The view is looking up towards the unique Pagoda one of only three of its kind surviving in Britain. The park as a whole is a must see for anyone visiting the area and is in the care of The National Trust for Scotland
