Dunnamore Ballinderry River Walk
This walk takes you along the Ballinderry River in Dunnamore in County Tyrone.
There is a parking and picnic area just off the A505 Barony Road where you can start the walk. From here you can head west along pleasant trails along the river. On the way there are some fine views of the surrounding countryside to enjoy.
The Ballinderry River is a designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC), recognized for its rich biodiversity. As you stroll along the riverbanks, you'll encounter a variety of aquatic plants, such as crowfoot, which thrive in the clean, fast-flowing waters. The river's ecosystem supports a range of wildlife, including kingfishers, which are often seen darting above the water's surface. The surrounding woodlands provide habitats for numerous bird species and small mammals, making the area a haven for nature enthusiasts.
The trail is well-maintained and suitable for walkers of varying abilities. The gentle sounds of the flowing river, combined with the lush greenery, create a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely walk. To continue your walking in the area head north to explore the peaceful woodland trails in the expansive Davagh Forest. The pretty Lough Fea can also be found in this area.

Just to the west you can pick up the circular loop walk around An Creagan. There's a visitor centre, a boardwalk over the Creggan Bog Nature Reserve and woodland trails to be found in this interesting area.
