Dunster Castle Walk
Explore the parkland, woodland and Historic Deer Park surrounding this Norman Castle near Minehead. From the castle there are fabulous views towards the Bristol channel, the Quantock hills and Exmoor.
The West Somerset Coast Path passes through the area. This waymarked trail offers a good way of exploring the area further. You can pick it up at Dunster Beach just to the east of the castle and follow it north into Minehead. The climbs to Dunkery Beacon and the Brendon Hills are also not too far away. There's great views over the area from these viewpoints.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas
If you head east along the West Somerset Coast Path you will come to the town of Watchet. The attractive town has an interesting maritime history with museums and a 16th century inn. There's also a picturesque harbour and a fossil rich beach to explore.
Just to the east you can pick up the Blue Anchor To Dunster Beach Walk. This visits the lovely Dunster Nature Reserven where you'll find woods, a large lake, rare flowers and lots of coastal birds.
