Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk visits Loch Mullardoch and Glen Cannich in the Northwest Scottish Highlands.
You can start the walk in the village of Cannich at the eastern end of the glen. From here you can follow trails west through the glen with fine views of the River Cannich and the surrounding mountains. You'll pass a series of picturesque lochs before coming to the expansive reservoir of Loch Mullardoch at the western end of the glen.
The route follows a country lane so is also suitable for cyclists. There is a parking area at the eastern of Loch Mullardoch if you prefer to start your walk from there.
To the south west you can pick up the Dog Falls Trail and explore this area further.

Glen Cannich. Cannich is a village at the southern end of Strathglass, about 26 miles west of Inverness. It lies at the confluence of the River Cannich and the River Affric, which combine to form the River Glass. The area offers opportunities for hill walking, fishing, cycling, and canoeing.

Glen Cannich - Southern shoreline of Loch Mullardoch at Mullardoch Power Station

Southern shoreline of Loch Mullardoch at Mullardoch Power Station. Loch Mullardoch is a major reservoir in Glen Cannich, created by damming the River Cannich in 1951 as part of the Affric-Beauly hydro-electric power scheme. The reservoir extends approximately 14 km westward up the glen.
