Boughton House, Northamptonshire. One of the Duke of Buccleuch's residences, it is a part of an estate with 4,451.5 ha (11,000 acres), and renowned for its beauty, its collections, and the fact that it has remained largely unaltered since the 17th century. Although it has a mediaeval interior, 'The English Versailles' has an exterior that is reminiscent of a lavish French chateau.
