Linacre Reservoirs
Enjoy cycling and walking trails around these three pretty reservoirs near Chesterfield. Cyclists can enjoy a good track running around the middle and lower reservoirs while walkers can follow the same trails plus another around the upper reservoir. The trails are a mixture of lovely waterside paths plus some woodland trails through Linacre Woods. Look out for nuthatches, flycatchers and woodpeckers in the woods and kingfishers and mandarin ducks on the water.
The circular route below starts at the car park and follows the shared cycle and walk trail around the middle and lower reservoirs. Linacre Reservoirs is located just a few miles west of Chesterfield city centre.

Pubs/Cafes
Head about half a mile north of the reservoir car park and you'll come to the little village of Cutthorpe. Here you'll find the excellent Peacock Inn which is well worth a visit. The quality inn has a great menu and won the 2018 best dining pub and 2019 best family friendly pub. Inside there's a nice modern interior, while outside there's a pretty courtyard area for finer days. You can find it at School Hill, Main Rd, Cutthorpe with a postcode of S42 7AS for your sat navs.
Dog Walking
The reservoirs and the surrounding woodland are ideal for dog walking. You'll probably see plenty of other owners on your outing if the weather is fine. There's is some livestock in the fields surrounding the site so it might be best to keep them on leads or under close control. The Peacock Inn mentioned above is also dog friendly.
