Loch Oire
Enjoy a little walk along the shores of the lovely Loch Oire in Elgin, Moray.
The pretty loch is located just to the east of Lhanbryde. It's a great place for a peaceful stroll with lots of wildlife to see on the water. You can park your car in the small lay-by on the eastern side of the loch at Threapland to start yourself off.
The walk can be extended by following a trail south east through the woods to the nearby Loch na Bo.

Head east towards Fochabers and you could pick up the epic Speyside Way and enjoy a riverside walk. Head west and you could pick up the cycling and walking trails in the expansive Culbin Forest in Nairn.

Loch Oire. Much of the surface of the loch seems to be covered with water weed. The loch lies in what may be a kettle hole, surrounded by thickly wooded ridges.
Loch Oire was adjacent to the A96 but due to realignment of this road it is no longer seen from passing traffic.

A Fine Family. The cob, pen and seven cygnets came over to investigate me when I appeared at the water's edge.

Davy's cottage at Loch na Bo. In the background you can see the fishing boats by Davy's cottage. The loch has a good head of spirited brown trout and a day on this water is something to savour.
