New Precipice Walk
This lovely trail follows the New Precipice Walk along the hills to the west of Llanelltyd, near Dolgellau in Gwynedd.
The waymarked circular walk can be picked up just to the west of the small village of Llanelltyd where you will find a car park. The footpath then climbs towards the Llyn Tan y Graig Reservoir before rising to a height of over 800 feet. From the high points there are some wonderful views over the Mawddach Estuary, Barmouth, the Snowdonia Mountains and, on a clear day the Arran Mountains of Scotland.
The route runs for about 3 miles and mostly takes place on a good, surfaced path.
To continue your walking in the area head south east to pick up the Precipice Walk. The popular walk gives great views over Llyn Cynwch and includes a visit to an Iron Age Hillfort.
