Prestatyn to Talacre Walk

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk follows a section of the Wales Coast Path from Prestatyn to Talacre and the Point of Ayr Lighthouse. The route runs for a distances of about 5 miles, passing along the signposted path.
Starting from the parking area on the sea front in Prestatyn you head east to the Gronant Dunes. A preservation area and nature reserve, the Gronant Dunes support rare plants such as sea holly, marram grass and rare dune fescue and animals which include the brown hare, skylark, mining bee and sandhill rustic moth. Look out for the Natterjack Toad has been reintroduced along with Sand lizards.
The walk then continues towards the Point of Ayr at Talacre. Here you can explore the lovely Talacre beach and look out for a wide variety of birdlife including Curlew, Peregrine and Oystercatcher.
