The route will run eventually run through the county, linking Stroud in the south with Bishop's Cleeve in the north. It aims to enhance the active travel network in Gloucestershire, aligning with the county council’s goal of creating high-quality infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians that meets modern design standards, improving both connectivity and accessibility. Additionally, it will support public health by making it easier for people to walk and cycle for commuting, education, and access to key locations such as homes and transport hubs.
