Harpenden-Luton Greenway Cycle and Walk
8.5 miles (13.7 km)
This shared cycling and walking route runs between Harpenden and Luton in Bedfordshire.
The flat route runs along a good surfaced path with some fine views of the River Lea and the surrounding Bedfordshire countryside. You pass along the old branch line railway between Hatfield and Dunstable. On the way you will pass the old Luton Hoo rail station site which was close in 1965.
The route runs for 8.5 miles so should take around 45 mins to an hour on a bike and 2-3 hours walking.
In the Luton area you could take a small detour from the route to visit the 15th century ruins of Someries Castle. The Luton Warden Hill and River Lea Walk can also be picked up nearby.
