National Cycle Route 223
This signed Sustrans Route takes you from Surrey based Chertsey to Shoreham by Sea on the Sussex coast.
You'll pass through some fine South Downs countryside and visit the settlements of Guildford, Woking, Cranleigh, Itchingfield and Southwater on the way.
Route highlights include the pretty lake in Southwater Country Park, Guildford's wildlife rich Riverside Park Nature Reserve, a pleasant riverside stretch along the River Adur into Shoreham and the coastal views at the end of the route. There's also some interesting history at Bramber Castle near Shoreham.
In Shoreham the route also links up with National Cycle Route 2 which you can follow along the coast towards Brighton.
