National Cycle Route 74
This signed Sustrans cycle route takes you from the city of Glasgow to Gretna, through the lovely countryside of South Lanarkshire.
The route starts off in Rutherglen just to the south of the train station. You then head east along a mixture of NCN 74 and National Cycle Route 75 to Uddingston. From here the route heads south to Strathclyde Country Park where there are some fine lakeside cycle trails and views of the River Clyde.
You continue south into the countryside towards Lesmahagow and Abington with fine views of the surrounding Lanark Hills.
The route then follows Evan Water and the motorway past Moffat and through Annandale before coming to Lockerbie.
The final section then runs from Lockerbie into Gretna where you can finish at the train station at Gretna Green.
