Reivers Route
This signed Sustrans Route crosses the country from Whitehaven on the west coast to Tynemouth on the east coast.
Much of the route uses National Cycle Route 10 with the opening section from Whitehaven to Workington following National Cycle Route 72. At Workington you then pick up National Cycle Route 71 to take you to Cockermouth where you pick up Route 10. On the way there's an excellent section through the expansive Kielder Forest where there is a popular lakeside trail.
The route is a good alternative to the popular Coast to Coast Whitehaven to Tynemouth or C2C cycle route. You could also use it as a return leg option to turn it into an epic coast to coast circular ride!

N.B The route is not to be confused with the Romans and Reivers Route, a walking trail which follows the old Roman Roads from the Ae Forest to Hawick in Scotland.
