Stainburn Forest Walks and Mountain Biking
This forest near Harrogate has three mountain bike trails to try. There are two red graded trails and a black graded narrow single track trail for the more experienced rider. All the trails are way-marked with colour coded discs. There are rocky descents, technical obstacles and great views of the Washburn Valley. The expansive forest is also good for walkers with good footpaths and lots of wildlife to look out for.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas
Head just a mile north west of the forest and you could visit Fewston Reservoir and Swinsty Reservoir. There's a nice waterside footpath to follow around the water here. Beaver Dyke Reservoir and John O'Gaunt Reservoir are also located near here. The photogenic ruins of John O'Gaunt Castle can also be found next to the reservoir.
Just to the south is Lindley Wood Reservoir where there is another decent footpath to try.
