Arnfield Reservoir
This circular walk visits Arnfield reservoir near Hadfield in the Peak District. You'll also venture into the surrounding hills and moorland where you can enjoy views of the Ogden Brook.
You can start the walk from the parking area at the south eastern corner of the lake. From here you can pick up public footpaths heading along the eastern side of the water. At Arnfield Lane you can pick up the Pennine Bridleway and follow it north up to Arnfield Low Moor and Lees Hill. Here you could take a small detour to visit the Swineshaw Reservoirs which are just to the west of the hill.
This walk follows the bridleway south to the Hollingworth Nature Reserve where there's a small lake, woodland trails through Swallow's Wood and lots of wildlife to look out for. The final section leads you east towards Tintwistle before returning to the reservoir.

Pubs/Cafes
The historic Bull's Head is conveniently located in Tintwistle just to the east of the lake. The 16th century pub does very good food and has a nice cosy fire for winter days. You can easily find the pub in the village at a postcode of SK13 1JY for your sat navs. It's also very dog friendly if you have your canine friend with you.
Dog Walking
Bottoms Reservoir is located about half a mile south east from the car park. There's some more nice trails here with views of the adjacent Valehouse Reservoir.
Just to the north east you will find Stalybridge Country Park where you can enjoy a walk around Walkerwood Reservoir.
The long distance Tameside Trail passes the reservoir. The 30 mile circular walk explores several of the highlights of the River Tame Valley.
