Chichester Marina and Birdham Walk
This pleasant waterside walk takes you around Chichester Marina and Birdham Pool Marina in West Sussex. It's a very pretty area with lots of great boats to admire and some fine sea views over Chichester Harbour.
You can start the walk from the marina car park at postcode PO20 7EG for your sat navs. You can then follow the public footpaths around the site before crossing the Chichester Canal to Birdham Pool where there's another nice marina.
You can extend the walk by following the coastal path north to the nearby Dell Quay. There's the Crown & Anchor pub here which does very good seafood and has a large waterside terrace with great views. There's also the option of following the previously mentioned Chichester Canal north east from the marina. It will take you all the way into Chichester via Hunston.

There's a nice cafe at the marina where you can enjoy refreshments after your walk. There's a light and airy dining terrace so you can sit outside on warmer days. The cafe is also dog friendly if you have your canine friend with you.

To continue your walking in the area and try the historic Chichester Walls Walk. For more waterside walking head to the Pagham Harbour where there's and RSPB reserve.
Just to the north west of the town there's the splendid Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve in the South Downs. The noteworthy reserve contains one of the finest yew forests in Europe, including a grove of ancient trees which are among the oldest living things in Britain.
On the western side of the town you could pick up the Centurion Way. This easy shared cycling and walking trail runs along the old Midhurst and Chichester railway track to West Dean.
