Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk visits the National Trust's Dollar Glen located in the Ochils of Clackmannanshire.
There's some lovely woodland trails with pretty burns and rushing waterfalls to see here. Also on the site are the striking ruins of the medieval Castle Campbell which dates from the 16th century. You can enjoy great views over the area from the elevated structure.
The scenic wooded gorge is great for wildlife with woodpecker, dipper and nuthatch to look out for as you make your way around the site.
To continue your walking in the area head west to Alva Glen where there's more pretty waterfalls and access to the Ochil Hills Woodland Park.

Walkway in Dollar Glen. The area is dominated by native deciduous woodland, where mature oak, birch, and ash trees form a natural canopy that allows dappled sunlight to filter through onto a rich understorey of wildflowers. In the spring, the glen comes alive with bluebells, wood anemones, and primroses, while patches of heather and gorse add splashes of colour during the summer months. The damp, sheltered ground supports a variety of mosses and ferns, creating an ideal microhabitat for invertebrates such as butterflies and bees, which in turn attract an array of woodland birds including chaffinches, nuthatches, and finches. Small mammals, notably red squirrels, are frequently seen darting among the trees, and the clear stream occasionally reveals glimpses of trout and other aquatic life.
