Loch Migdale Walk
This walk visits Loch Migdale near Bonar Bridge, in Sutherland, Scottish Highlands.
On the northern side of the loch there is a country lane with a small parking area next to the lake. You can pick up a footpath here heading east along the lake with some fine views across the water the surrounding countryside, hills and forestry.
At the eastern end there are some woodland trails around Migdale Wood as well.
There's also lots of wildlife to see including red kites, buzzards and ravens.
To continue your walking in the area head north to visit the splendid Falls of Shin. Here you can look out for the leaping salmon and enjoy a woodland walk through the adjacent Shin Forest. The site also includes an informative visitor centre and a cafe.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas
To the east there's Dornoch where you can pick up the Dornoch to Embo Walk along the John O'Groats Trail. The walk runs for about 3 miles along a fairly flat path with nice beaches and lovely views over the Dornoch Firth and the Dornoch Links golf course.
