Mallaig Circular Walk

2.30 miles (3.7 km)

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This circular walk explores the area around the port village of Mallaig in Morar, on the west coast of the Highlands of Scotland.
The walk starts from the railway station which is a terminus on the West Highland Line. You can catch the train here from Fort William and Glasgow. There is also a ferry port with regular services to Armadale on the Isle of Skye.
From the train station you can follow the coastal road around to Courteachan before climbing into the hills to the east of the village. From here you can enjoy fine views over the harbour and across Loch Nevis to Knoydart.
You can continue your walking in the area by heading south to the Silver Sands Of Morar, Loch Morar and Arisaig. The fantastic viewpoint at the historic Glenfinnan Viaduct is also not too far away.
