Pelsall Common
This walk visits the Pelsall North Common nature reserve in the village of Pelsall, Walsall.
The reserve includes some pleasant footpaths with woodland, heathland, wildlife and ponds. The Wyrley and Essington Canal also runs through the reserve so you can pick up the towpath and enjoy some easy waterside walking here.
You can extend your walk by heading south to visit Pelsall Village Comon where there are more pleasant trails.

Pool on Pelsall Common. The northern corner of Pelsall Common was the site, until the 1920s, of Pelsall Ironworks with blast furnaces, puddling furnaces, forges and rolling mills. The site has now reverted to nature.
Friars Bridge, Hatherton Branch Canal. This 6.5 mile canal originally linked the Staffs & Worcs Canal to the Wyrley and Essington Canal. Closed after the war it is now under restoration by the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Trust.
