3.1 miles (5 km)

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This pretty country park is situated on the River Blyth at Hartford Bridge, 5 miles south of Morpeth and north of Cramlington. There are 100 acres of woodland and meadow to explore and a lovely long waterside stretch along the River Blyth. There's also an abundance of wildlife with woodpecker, nuthatch, tree creeper, kingsfisher, red squirrel, roe deer and fox. There are a number of self guided walking trails and a bridleway for cyclists. The park has an excellent visitor centre with maps, guides and a cafe.
If you have time you could head half a mile east to Bedlington Country Park where there are more riverside trails to try through Humford Woods.

Pubs/Cafes

There's a good on site cafe selling a range of meals and snacks. You can find it at the entrance to the park.

Dog Walking

The woods are a great place for a dog walk so you'll probably see plenty of other owners on a fine day.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

A few miles south of the park is another of the highlight of the area at Northumberlandia. Here you'll find a huge land sculpture in the shape of a reclining female figure, known as the Lady of the North. There's some nice trails to follow around the park which also includes a visitor centre.
For more walks in the county see the Northumberland Walks page.
