This is the marina at Wat Tyler Country Park. The photo was taken looking due west. For some inexplicable reason the park was renamed “Pitsea Hall Country Park” during the latter days of the Thatcher era. However not long after 1997 the hero of the 1381 Peasants Revolt over the poll tax was once again honoured…….
Little Coopers Cottage. This early 17th Century weather boarded thatched cottage is living proof that cheap holiday flights take priority over heritage. The listed cottage was due for demolition due to the extension of Stansted airport. In 1987 it was dismantled and rebuilt as it was in the late 17th century on the country park in Pitsea. It is once again a listed building. A Kiddies adventure playground is in the background.
