Westhay Moor
This walk visits the Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve on the Somerset Levels.
The reserve forms part of the wider Avalon Marshes, an area covering 1,235 acres. You can start the walk from the car park on Dagg's Lane Drove next to the Decoy Pool. There's some pleasant footpaths to pick up here, taking you around habitats which include reed-beds, lakes and pools, wet woodlands and raised bogs. There's lots of wildlife to see including marsh harrier, bittern, migrating ospreys and otters. Also look out for the lovely wood carving which shows how the site was formed over many thousands of years.
