West Deane Way
This wonderful circular walk takes you through the beautiful Somerset countryside including the Quantocks.
The path starts and ends in Taunton on the River Tone and heads north west towards West Bagborough. You continue through Lydeard St Lawrence and Wiveliscombe before a pleasant waterside stretch along the River Tone takes you back to Taunton via Bradford on Tone.
In Taunton the trail links with the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal which offers more great opportunities for waterside walking or cycling.

Pubs/Cafes
Just north of Wellington you will pass the village of Langford Budville where you could enjoy a pit stop at the Martlett Inn. The lovely pub is something of a local gem with its 17th century flagstone floors and inglenook fireplace. Outside there's also a fine courtyard garden to relax in.
They serve an excellent Sunday roast and provide rooms and car parking. You can find them in Langford Budville at postcode TA21 0QZ.

The Somerset Space Walk runs along the towpath of the Bridgwater canal. The route is lined with a number of interesting sculptures representing the planets of the Solar System. You can see the scale model of the sun at Maunsel Lock and the description panels next to the sculptures to find out more.

Oak by the West Deane Way. The Way is following bridleway T 28/6 as it curves between fields south of Tolland.
Southern slopes of the Tone valley. From footpath WG 17/14, followed by the West Deane Way, as it runs along the line of the Grand Western Canal beside damp woodland bordering the River Tone.
Path by the River Tone Contrasting colours by the river. The well made-up path may turn away from the riverside at this point, heading into a housing estate at Frieze Hill, but the West Deane Way follows Taunton footpath 3/6 upstream along the edge of the rape field.
