Appleton Le Moors Walks
This historic, attractive village is located in North Yorkshire near Lastingham, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside.
Nestled in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, this picturesque settlement enjoys a stunning natural setting amidst rolling hills, heather-covered moorlands, and ancient woodlands.
The village itself is a quintessential example of rural English life, with traditional stone-built houses and cottages that blend seamlessly with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Local highlights include a significant 19th century church and a fine pub dating to the 17th century.
This walk from the village takes you to neighbouring Sinnington which lies just to the south of the settlement. On the way you can enjoy a lovely riverside footpath along the River Seven and take in some pleasant countryside views.

The Moors Inn is an historic pub dating to the 17th century. They serve good quality dishes and also have a lovely garden area with views of the countryside and hills.
