Banishead Quarry
This walk visits the Banishead Quarry near Coniston in the Lake District.
The walk starts in Torver and follows bridle paths north up to the quarries. On the way there's nice views of the Torver Beck with waterfalls and woodland areas too. It's a fairly challenging climb with the quarries sitting in an elevated position above Coniston Water. At the site there's a picturesque pool and a waterfall to admire.

Back in Torver the Church House Inn is a good choice for some post walk refreshment. The historic 14th century inn serves good quality food and has a nice garden area to sit out in on warmer days. You can find them at postcode LA21 8AZ for your sat navs.
Dog Walking
The woods and hill climb are a good one for fit dogs. The Church House Inn mentioned above is also dog friendly.
