Billingshurst Canal and River Walk
A circular walk in Billingshurst taking in the Wey and Arun Canal and the River Arun. It's about a 3 mile walk with some nice views of the river and the surrounding West Sussex countryside.
The walk starts just to the west of the village at New Bridge where you can pick up the Wey South Path and follow the waymarked trail south west to Guildenhurst Bridge and Lording's Lock on the canal. The route then heads north east following other footpaths along the River Arun to the Brockhurst Brook. You then follow paths north west to return to the New Bridge where the walk finishes.

You can continue your walking in the area by continuing south along the Wey South Path and visiting nearby Pulborough. Here you'll find the lovely Pulborough Brooks RSPB Nature Reserve where there's lots of birdlife to look out for. Near here is the delightful village of West Chiltington where there's a noteworthy 12th century church to see.
To the south east is the expansive Knepp Castle Estate. The estate is one of the walking highlights of the area with miles of trails, a 12th century castle and interesting wildlife including wild boar, nesting storks, horses and deer to look out for on the way.
To the west is Wisborough Green, a very pretty village with an enormous village green, a cricket pitch and a fine old church to see. You can also visits the Mens Nature Reserve in this area.
