The scenery around the settlement is really beautiful and there's also the bonus of a historic local pub to visit for rest and refreshment after your exercise.
This circular walk from the village uses part of the Upper Ceiriog Trail and other public footpaths to explore the surrounding countryside. The route climbs to a height of over 1440ft with wonderful views over the valley and surrounding hills. You'll also visit the neighbouring village of Tregeiriog which lies just to the east. There's nice views of the River Ceiriog to enjoy here.

Pubs/Cafes

Back in the village you could head to the West Arms for some post walk refreshment. The pub dates back to the 15th century and has a fine interior with low ceilings, natural slate floors and roaring inglenook fires. They serve high quality dishes in their award winning restaurant. The country trails make for a good walk for fit dogs. The West Arms mentioned above is also dog friendly.
