Perranporth to St Agnes Walk
This coastal walk follows a lovely section of the from Perranporth to St Agnes Head in Cornwall.
The route runs for just over 5 miles but you have the option of getting the bus back if you prefer. You can reach St Agnes village by following a footpath south from Trevaunance Cove.
The walk starts in Perranporth and follows the waymarked footpath west to the wonderful cliffs at Droskyn Point and Cligga Head. You continue past the Blue Hills before coming to the picturesque Trevaunance Cove where there's a nice beach. The last section takes you past Newdowns Head before coming to St Agnes Head.
You can extend the walk by heading south east from the headland to climb to St Agnes Beacon. There's more great views from this hill which stands at a heigh of 192 metres above the bay. There's also the ruins of the old Wheal Coates tin mine nearby. This dramatic area is area is known as Poldark country due to its literary associations.
The walk can easily be extended by continuing south to vist the lovely beaches as Chapel Porth and Porthtowan.

Pubs/Cafes
Just to the south of the headland there's the Wheal Coates Tea Room for some post walk refreshments. They have a good selection of sandwiches and delicious cakes to choose from. There's a nice outdoor seating area and car park as well. You can find them at Beacon Drive, Saint Agnes, TR5 0NU.
Back in Perranporth The Watering Hole is a good option. The coastal pub is described as 'the UK’s only bar on the beach'. You can sit outside and enjoy fine coastal views with your meal here.
Dog Walking
The cliff tops are quite high up so it's best to keep dogs on leads or under close control on the path. The Watering Hole mentioned above is dog friendly.
Further Information and Other Local Ideas
At the northern end of the route you can pick up the Newquay to Perranporth Walk which will take you north along the coast path to the famous surfing and tourist town.
Just south of Newquay you can pick up the Holywell to Crantock Circular Walk to visit the lovely Holywell Bay and the secluded beach at Porth Joke.
