Rouken Glen Park
This beautiful park near Glasgow is a perfect peaceful retreat from the busy city centre. The park covers 143 acres and contains miles of pleasant footpaths taking you to the park's many features. These include the pretty boating pond, a large waterfall surrounded by steep woodland, a delightful walled garden and a visitor centre.
If you would like to continue your walk you could to the neaby Dams to Darnley Country Park where you will find miles of waterside walking and cycling trails. The excellent park includes a series of reservoirs including Balgray Reservoir and the smaller Ryat Linn and Waulkmill Reservoirs.

Just to the north there's Pollok Country Park to explore. One of the highlights of the area Pollok was named the best park in Britain in 2006 and in 2008, was named the best park in Europe. In the park you'll find a riverside section along the pretty White Cart River, a beautiful walled garden with glasshouses, a delightful woodland garden and the very grand Pollok House - Scotland’s answer to Downton Abbey.
A few miles to the east there's Cathkin Braes Country Park on the southern outskirts of Glasgow. The expansive park has miles of walking paths and mountain bike trails with an excellent viewpoint over the city as well.
