Chester Millennium Greenway
This shared cycling and walking trail runs along an old railway line from Chester to the Wharf at Connah's Quay.
The traffic free route runs for just over 9 miles along a flat surfaced path. It's a popular ride for anyone looking for an easy, safe cycle ride or walk.
The route starts to the north east of the city in the Mickle Trafford area. You'll then head west to Hoole before crossing the Shropshire Union Canal. The next section heads through Blacon towards the Deeside Industrial Park. The final section crosses the River Dee and finishes at Connah's Quay. You can turn it into a circular route by picking up the Along the River Dee from Chester to Connah's Quay route and following it east along the river to Chester.
At Connah's Quay you could also pay a visit to Wepre Park. The park is located just south of the finish point of the ride so easy to access if you have time. The expansive park includes some fine trails taking you to ancient woodland, river paths, a waterfall and the 12th century ruins of the historic Ewloe Castle.
