London to Windsor
This long cycle ride runs along National Cycle Route 4 from West London to Windsor in Berkshire. The route runs for about 40 miles on a series of minor roads, riverside paths with plenty of traffic free sections to enjoy. Highlights on the route include long stretches through Richmond Park and Windsor Great Park.
The route starts off in Battersea Park and crosses Chelsea Bridge before following a riverside trail west to Battersea Bridge. You then follow minor roads to Fulham and Putney where you pick up the Thames again to take you to Barnes. Here you leave the river, passing through Barnes Common and Roehampton before coming to Richmond Park. There's some great trails here through the expansive deer park, leading to Ham where you pick up the Thames Path again. The river leads you through Kingston-upon-Thames toward Hampton Court Park which has some nice trails to try.
You continue along the river to Sunbury, Walton on Thames, Weybridge, Chertsey and Staines. Here you leave the river to climb toward Cooper's Hill and the wonderful Windsor Great Park. It's a great section with woodland, lakes and great views of Windsor Castle to enjoy.
After leaving the park the route finishes in the town, near to the train station.
You can extend the ride by crossing the river and following a path through Eton, passing the famous school.

Pubs/Cafes
Head to the Pear Tree Cafe in Battersea park for some refreshments. The cafe was opened by Annabel Partridge and Will Burrett in Autumn 2016. Pear Tree Cafe evokes charm, with beautiful views across the boating lake and a seasonally changing menu in a relaxed setting. You can find the cafe on the eastern side of the park's lake.
