Manchester Cycleway
The Manchester or Chorlton Cycleway runs along National Cycle Route 60 from Chorlton to the Velodrome and Sportcity in east Manchester.
You will pass along the railway line on the Fallowfield Loop, the old Stockport Branch Canal and the Ashton Canal. Starting near Chorlton Park the route takes you through the districts of Fallowfield, Levenshulme and Gorton. It's a nice safe cycle path which also provides access to other local highlights including Highfield Country Park, Debdale Park, the Gorton and Audenshaw Reservoirs and Chorlton Water Park at the start of the route.
The ride finishes very close to Boggart Hole Clough where there are some good off road trails to try.

Sport City and velodrome. Manchester Velodrome is the United Kingdom's leading indoor Olympic-standard cycle track and was used to host the track cycling events in the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The track has a reputation for quick times; with several cycling world records set at the Velodrome, including Chris Boardman's World Hour Record and the 4000 m pursuit record set by the Australian men's team.
